Privacy & Terms

Last reviewed: 12 July 2026

The short version: your information never leaves your device. Most NDIS tools upload your plan to a server. Ours don't — our preparation tools run entirely in your browser, and we couldn't see what you type if we tried. No accounts to use the free tools, no analytics, no data selling. We are independent and not part of the NDIA or the Australian Government.

Your information in the tools

Our preparation tools (My Fluctuation Patterns, the Evidence Organiser, the Evidence Wallet, the worksheets, and the Know Your NDIS Rights course) work entirely in your browser.

Membership and payments

Membership is optional and never required to use the tools. Payments are processed by our payment provider under its own privacy policy. We never see or store your card number.

When you sign in, your member code is sent securely to our sign-in service to be checked. Codes are stored only as one-way hashes, never as plain text, and we keep no record of what you do on the site. If you email us, we know your email address, and we use it only to help you.

Membership is a personal purchase. It is not an NDIS support and cannot be paid for from NDIS plan funding.

What fetches from the internet

Three things, only when you choose them. The NDIS news page loads public news headlines when you open it. The Plan Understanding Checklist loads recent changes only when you press its "Show recent changes" button. If you sign up for reassessment prep tips by email, your address is sent once to our email service so we can reply — not mixed with anything you typed in the tools.

Our AI companion tools (a clear exception)

A few optional tools built on our companion site work differently, and we label them clearly. Tools that draft text for you — for example a support letter or reassessment draft — send what you type to an AI service to create your draft, then show it back to you. This is the one place your words leave your device, and only for the tools clearly marked as AI drafting tools.

Even then, your plan data is not stored by us, and you always review and edit the result before using it. Every tool on this main site — the Plan Explainer, Budget Calculator, Evidence Wallet, and all the members' tools — runs entirely in your browser and sends nothing.

The feedback box

Every page has an optional "Was this page helpful?" box. If you use it, your answer and comment are emailed to us so we can improve the site. Nothing else is sent: no name, no account, no record of what you did on the site. Don't include personal details in a comment unless you want us to read them.

Email sign-up (optional)

If you ask for reassessment prep tips by email, we receive your email address and send occasional plain-language messages. We do not sell or share your address. We do not run ad trackers. Unsubscribe any time by replying to any message. Your tool answers and checklists still stay on your device only.

Tweetie Bird Guide (voice chat)

Tweetie is an optional yellow-bird helper that answers questions about where tools live on Plan Decoder. Tweetie does not give funding, legal, or medical advice. Original site mascot.

Cookies and tracking

We do not use advertising trackers or analytics cookies on our tool pages. Local storage is used only to save your progress on your own device.

What our tools are, and are not

Our tools help you prepare and organise your own information. Every generated statement comes from what you entered.

Independence

Plan Decoder is an independent resource. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or part of the NDIA, the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission, or the Australian Government.
