Support Costs Explorer
What supports typically cost, in plain language. Knowing the numbers helps you understand plans and quotes.
Everyday support
Support worker (daily living and community access)
up to $70.23 per hour, weekday daytime, national rate
Help at home or out in the community. Evenings, Saturdays, Sundays, public holidays, and remote areas have higher limits. Overnight and high-intensity supports are priced differently.
Therapies (capacity building)
Occupational therapy and most therapies
up to $193.99 per hour, national standard rate
The standard cap for most therapy supports, including OT and speech pathology. From July 2026, therapy travel, non-face-to-face time, and NDIA-requested reports are billed as separate line items, so ask your provider what a quote includes.
Psychology
up to $252.99 per hour
Dietitian
up to $178.99 per hour
Exercise physiology
up to $161.99 per hour
Physiotherapy has its own separate cap. Check the current Pricing Schedule for the exact figure in your state.
Coordination and managing the plan
Support coordination
capped hourly rates by level, see current schedule
Helps you find and connect with supports. Three levels exist, each with its own price limit. If it's in your plan, it has its own budget.
Plan management
set monthly fee plus setup, see current schedule
A plan manager pays your invoices and tracks your budgets. If your plan includes it, it's funded on top of your other supports, not out of them.
Home and yard
House cleaning and yard maintenance
capped hourly rates see current schedule
Everyday household help has lower hourly caps than disability support work. Providers quote within those limits.
How to use these numbers
When you get a quote, compare it to the price limit. When you look at a plan budget, divide it by an hourly rate to get a feel for what it covers (the free Budget Calculator does this for you). And when something seems off, asking your plan manager or support coordinator about it is always allowed.
