NDIS changes, in plain language

October 2024: new NDIS Act rules. The law now includes official lists of what counts as an NDIS support and what doesn't. Everyday costs like rent and groceries are out. You can ask about replacement supports in some cases. Details: official summary.

October 2024: the ART replaced the AAT. External reviews of NDIA decisions now go to the Administrative Review Tribunal. Time limits stayed tight: 3 months for internal review, 28 days to go to the ART after that. Module 9 of the rights course walks through it.

Rolling through 2025 to 2026: staged reforms. Changes from the NDIS Review keep arriving in stages, including how plans are built and support needs are assessed. We review this site's content against official sources and note updates in the changelog.
